Nature Reserve Suldtal

The nature reserve in Suldtal is accessible from the beginning of May until the end of October.

There are countless hiking opportunities in the Suldtal, as well as bike routes from which you can enjoy the landscape. There are also many places to relax and have a picnic and a break along the Suldbach stream. At the end of the valley you will find the Pochtenfall waterfalls, which you can get to within 15 mins by foot on a small loop trail. In the cosy guesthouse Suld, which serves local specialties, you can treat yourself to some good food during the summer season (beginning of May to end of October).

From July to October, a post bus runs into the Suldtal valley at weekends and on public holidays. The Suldtalbus is financed by a sponsorship and is not an official Postbus route. For this reason, a special tariff applies. Regular season tickets (GA, Half-Fare Card, etc.) are not valid. With the PanoramaCard (guest card) you also travel free of charge on this line.

Discover blooming mountain fields full of wild flowers, mighty forests, a rushing wild stream, many wild animals and birds,  a majestic Steinadlerpaar, and rare flowers and plants.

In the Suldtal you are very close to nature, and you can find out more about the plants which grow in the Suldtal on one of our botanic excursions. Along the babbling Suldbach stream there are many idyllic spots that invite you to stay a while and BBQ or have a picnic.  Beware: in thunderstorms the little stream can quickly become a raging torrent. From Aeschiried it takes around an hour to get to the guesthouse Suld.

The Suldtal is also accessible by car. However you do have to purchase a parking ticket at the entrance to the valley and this is valid on all carparks in the Suldtal. Please make sure you get enough parking time and that the ticket is easy to see behind your windscreen. On weekends from July to October we recommend taking the Postauto/bus to Suldtal.

The Suldtal is the ideal starting point for many wonderful hikes:

Pochtenfall Loop Trail: a fabulous hike around the impressive Pochtenfall.

Alpine Bench Loop Trail: Via Greberegg this path leads you on the ridge to Aeschiried. The view from here is simply magnificent.

Morgenberghorn: This challenging hike is only suitable for experienced hikers.

Rengglipass: Hiking along the Suld river and past the tumultuous Pochtenfall you will get to Schlieri and to the Rengglipass. If you like, you can climb down from here to Saxeten.
