Open-air Theatre Aeschiallmi

In the summer of 2026, theater will once again be performed at the Allmi. Water scarcity, a topical issue, will be addressed in the play “Quellestritt” by Chrigel Däpp senior. We would be delighted if you would visit us and immerse yourself in everyday alpine life in the best possible atmosphere.
The performances will take place in July on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 8 p.m., and 300 guests can attend each theater evening.
The atmosphere in front of the alpine hut on the Aeschiallmend couldn't be more realistic. The Aeschiallmi is located above Aeschiried, nestled in the wonderful mountain world with a view of the Niesen chain and Lake Thun.

The consequences of global warming are also being felt in the mountains, for example when it comes to water scarcity. Whereas in the past everyone could help themselves generously to spring water, now suddenly the order of the day is to divide it fairly among the mountain dwellers and farmers. But not everyone sees it that way, because everyone is fighting for survival. This can lead to devious ideas coming to mind.

Kobi, the mountain farmer, secretly cuts off his neighbor Remo's spring water supply because Remo has been wasteful with it and Kobi now has too little himself. The conflict escalates among the population and a former family feud also comes to light. But the new generation brings peaceful surprises and ultimately the strong community among the mountain dwellers prevails.

“You can say what you like about me, but get my boy out of the play, you miserable water waster, you mocking fool.”
